There are several options for the students who would like to participate in volunteer programs in Buenos Aires. One of the most popular ones is Un Techo Para Mi País, a well-established non-governmental organization led by young volunteers with branches all over Latin America. Its objective is to promote social integration through the construction of emergency housing for populations living in poverty. Since 2003, volunteers have worked together with recipient families to build over 4000 homes in Argentina. Princeton students would be involved in Techo projects related to house building such as researching and assessing community needs in neighborhoods in the greater Buenos Aires. Students would have the opportunity to interact with local individuals and other Techo volunteers as well as witness the reality of living conditions of Argentina's poorest populations. Another possibility is the environmental organization Vida Silvestre, which has several volunteer programs in the Reserva Ecológica along the shores of the Rio de la Plata.
