Profile

Perla Masi (Ph.D., Princeton University) specializes in Spanish and Portuguese-speaking literatures and cultures. Before joining the Department of Spanish and Portuguese at Princeton University, she taught Spanish language and modern and contemporary Iberian and Latin American literatures at Boston University and New York University. Her research focuses on the intersection between poetry and political theory in modern and contemporary Latin America as well as on second language acquisition, methodology, and content-based instruction. Currently, she is working on her book entitled The Place of Poetry: Poesis and Political Theology in Twentieth-Century Latin America.
