SPA 102 welcomed artist and educator Verónica Olivares-Weber to class. Verónica is a teaching artist, community leader, and cultural advocate committed to equity, cultural preservation, and social change through art, education, and activism. At Princeton, she has led innovative educational and artistic programs, especially those serving underrepresented communities, such as Spanish Through Art and Princeton Youth Achievers.
During her visit, students had the opportunity to engage with her presentation and connect it to key themes from the final unit of the semester, "Ciudadano del mundo y compromiso social" (Global Citizenship and Social Engagement). Her work served as a real-world example of the impact of socially committed art and the responsibilities of global citizens.
