This past weekend, Paloma Moscardó-Vallés presented at the NAMS conference in Chicago. The conference combined presentations and posters from MOLA, the Medical Association of Latino Advancement and NAMS, the National Association of Medical Spanish.

Paloma’s presentation, “No Medical School? No teaching hospital? How to connect your Medical Spanish undergraduate students to the profession”, offered some ideas that she has developed over the years, and introduced the tool that she created last summer: a collection of mock medical interviews videos.  

Besides the engaging presentations, witnessing the support extended by MOLA to aspiring young Latinx individuals pursuing a career in medicine was particularly heartening. The atmosphere was charged with positive energy: SÍ SE PUEDE
