Julian shares his thoughts with SPO about his plans for the future:

"I will be starting my PhD in History at Duke this fall to pursue my interest in Latin American history that grew throughout my time as an undergraduate in the SPO department. Specifically, though learning Portuguese and taking classes in both the SPO and History departments, I became invested in 20th Brazilian history, writing one of my Junior Papers and my Senior Thesis about liberationist Catholic movements in Brazil during the military dictatorship period. These questions of religion, politics, and social movements in 20th century Brazil continue to motivate my interests as I begin my PhD, where I plan to expand my research on these topics working in the discipline of history. I wouldn't have gotten to this point were it not for the amazing advising and support I received from the SPO faculty, and I am deeply appreciative of all of their efforts to cultivate such an amazing program."

In addition to his many accomplishments at Princeton, Julian was recognized by SPO and other academic departments. Best wishes to him at Duke and in all of his future endeavors.

Congratulations, Julian!
