Flora Thomson-DeVeaux ’13 recently defended her dissertation titled "Toward a New Translation of Memórias Póstumas de Brás Cubas” at Brown University for her Ph.D. in Portuguese and Brazilian Studies. In addition to her dissertation, Flora has continued to work as a professional translator as well as an independent researcher in Rio.
In 2013, Flora was awarded with the Martin Dale Fellowship and began an independent book project focusing on the life and writing of Santiago Badariotti Merlo.
