Dec. 10, 2020

Dec 10, 2020 was the centenary of Clarice Lispector. For the occasion, Professor Marília Librandi has created, with the Brazil LAB, the sonic library Clarice 100 Ears, where one can listen to Clarice’s luminous writing in multiple languages and in the voice of artists, scholars, and everyday readers.

Together with the Department of Spanish and Portuguese, the Brazil LAB has also produced a video specially made for Clarice 100 Ears, in which the Brazilian writer and musician Chico Buarque, invited by Professor Pedro Meira Monteiro, reads passages from As águas do mundo/The Waters of the World (with captions in English and Spanish).

The Clarice 100 Ears initiative is coordinated by Marília Librandi, with the help of SPO faculty and students.
