On Thursday, April 25th students, faculty and staff gathered in the Lower Hyphen of Chancellor Green in recognition of the 50th anniversary of restored democracy in Portugal after 41 years of dictatorship. The Portuguese program held a small exhibition showcasing the work of students in SPO's POR courses. The creative works on display featured the themes of dictatorship, revolution, democracy and postcolonialism.
Traditional Portuguese cuisine was provided while attendees exchanged lively conversations and showing their support by donning red carnations, a vibrant symbol of the revolution.
