On April 25th at 4:30pm many gathered in East Pyne's Lower Hyphen for the opening of the exhibit to witness and experience the various works created by students in Portuguese courses. Through visual and audio stimulation, students presented music, poetry, and images about and related to the Portuguese-speaking world. Attendees were able to learn about some important personalities from a diversity of backgrounds and disciplines, download curated playlists of Afro-Latin-Euro beats for every mood and see the many ways in which our POR students actively engage with Brazil, Portugal and Cabo Verde.
Also available during the opening reception were authentic Portuguese and Brazilian foods that visitors could sample while enjoying the exhibit and interacting with others.
The exhibit will remain in its current location until April 29th. If you did not have the opportunity to visit, you may have another chance in the fall during the Academic Expo. Additionally, announcements will be made in the fall for a possible mini exhibit in the SPO lounge. More to information to come.
In the meantime, check out SPO's Instagram for photos from the event!
