A group of students from the SPA-LIN-LAS 233 (Languages of the Americas) class participated in the 4th Annual Munsee Language & History Symposium, which took place at the Institute for Advanced Study from October 31 until November 2. Simone Acosta '27, Chloe Hartwell '27, Nolani Lloyd '27, Andy Hou '28, and Ciara Loughran '26 shared their experiences about a land-based language learning project that they are currently undertaking with language keepers from the Munsee-Delaware Nation in Ontario, Canada. 

In that same session, another student from this class, Sreeniketh Vogoti '25, presented with Jamie Tucker (Munsee-Delaware Nation) updates of an online Munsee dictionary, a project in which they have been collaborating since 2023. Sreeniketh received a Derian Summer Internship from the Program for Community-Engaged Scholarship to participate in the inaugural Lunaape Language Camp in July 2023.
