Graduate student Azahara Palomeque from the department of Spanish and Portuguese recently published a new book of poems, En la Ceniza Blanca de las Encías, with the publisher La Isla de Siltolá in Spain. In 2015 Palomeque also published the book American Poems.

Azahara Palomeque (El Sur, Spain) is a poet, writer, researcher and educator. She is the author of the books En la Ceniza Blanca de las Encías (Isla de Siltolá, 2017), American Poems (Isla de Siltolá, 2015) and the bilingual chapbook El Diente del Lobo/The Wolf’s Tooth (Carmina in minima re, 2014), which she co-translated. She has also published poems and short stories in literary journals in Spain, Latin America and the U.S.
