Event Description

The event is free and open to all, but campus COVID protocols must be followed.

On Tuesday December 7th, at 4:30pm in Campus Club, Professor Christina Lee of the Department of Spanish & Portuguese will host a conversation with writer and journalist Jordan Salama '19 to discuss stories of journeys that cross cultures, borders, and identities in the Americas and beyond. An American writer of Argentine, Syrian, and Iraqi Jewish descent, Salama regularly produces essays and stories for publications such as National Geographic, the New York Times, and Scientific American. His reporting has taken him as far as the steppes of Kazakhstan and as near as Queens, New York, and his first book, "Every Day the River Changes: Four Weeks Down the Magdalena", was named a Kirkus Best Nonfiction Title of 2021 and chronicles a journey along Colombia's greatest waterway.
