SPO Graduate Student, Jorge Gaupp Berghausen, was recently awarded a 2017 Teaching Award from the Graduate School to recognize Assistants in Instruction (AIs) for excellence in undergraduate teaching. Several faculty members of the department as well as students submitted letters of support for Jorge.

The Colectivo de Acciones de Arte (CADA) was a Chilean art group founded by visual artists Lotty Rosenfeld and Juan Castillo, sociologist Fernando Balcells, writer Diamela Eltit and poet Raúl Zurita, who used performance and public interventions to challenge the dictatorship of Augusto Pinochet in Chile.
